Signing in on the TV

Open Kine on the TV. You'll see a six-character code and a QR code.

Use Phone: scan the QR code, or go to watchkine.com/tv on your phone, sign in to your Kine account and type the six characters. The TV signs in by itself within a few seconds.

Use Remote: choose "Use Remote" on the TV and type your Kine email and password with the on-screen keyboard.

No account yet? Create one on your phone first; it takes a minute.

Live TV: groups, playing, fullscreen, guide, catch-up, favourites

Live TV shows the groups and channels your provider lists. Pick a group on the left, then a channel: it starts in the small preview. Press OK on the channel to go fullscreen, and BACK to return.

Press RIGHT on a channel to open the guide (EPG). Programmes that already aired can be replayed where your provider offers catch-up; they show a replay marker.

Long-press OK (or use the menu) on a channel to add it to Favourites. Favourites appear as their own group at the top.

Movies & series: Continue Watching, My Kine, subtitles and audio

Continue Watching on Home picks up where you stopped, per profile. My Kine is your watchlist: press the bookmark on any title to add it.

While playing, press DOWN (or OK, then the subtitles icon) to choose subtitles and audio tracks. If a stream has no subtitle track, Kine can generate one; choose "Kine subtitles" in the same menu.

Profiles and parental controls (PIN)

Each person in the household gets a profile with their own Continue Watching and watchlist. Switch profiles from the top of Home or in Settings.

To lock groups behind a PIN, open Settings → Profiles → Parental controls, set a four-digit PIN and pick the groups to lock. Locked groups ask for the PIN every time until you unlock them for the session.

Forgotten PIN? Sign out the TV from your account page at watchkine.com/account and sign in again; you can set a new PIN after that.

A stream won't play or keeps buffering

The honest answer first: Kine is a player. The stream itself comes from your provider's servers, not from Kine. When a channel or title won't play, the cause is almost always on the provider side or the network.

Before writing to us, check:

  • Does the same channel fail in your provider's own app or on another device? If yes, contact your provider.
  • Is your internet fast enough? Run a speed test on the TV's network; buffering under 10 Mbit/s is common.
  • Are you on Wi-Fi? Try a cable, or move the router closer. Restart the router and the TV.
  • Is your provider login still valid? Settings → Account on the TV shows the connection status.

If every stream fails everywhere, or the app itself crashes, that's for us: report it below with the TV model and the app version.

Updating the app and supported TVs

Kine runs on Android TV and Google TV devices (Android 9 or newer), including Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Sony, TCL, Philips and Xiaomi TVs, and Android TV boxes from Formuler and others. Amazon Fire TV is supported where the app can be installed.

Updates arrive through the store you installed from. The current version is shown in Settings → About. If a problem persists after an update, tell us the version number (it's prefilled below when you scanned the TV's QR code).

Your account, subscription and devices

Everything about your account lives at watchkine.com/account: the TVs signed in (sign any of them out remotely), your subscription and the next renewal, your card on file and receipts. You can cancel from the Billing page in two clicks.

The Kine subscription pays for the app only. Your provider's own subscription is separate; Kine supplies no channels or content.

Kine is only a player. Channels, films and series come from your own provider; questions about them go to your provider.
